About Dr. Blatz, MD

“I was an athlete in college and wanted to go into medicine so I could take care of other athletes and return them to their sports in better health. My goal is to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle for life.”

Dr. Blatz was trained at Brown University where he earned his BA in biology, then Colgate University for his MA in chemistry and Upstate Medical in Syracuse for his MD. His orthopedic surgery training was at Tulane and his sports medicine training was with Dr. Jack Hughston, founder of the Hughston Clinic and Dr. James Andrews of Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Blatz is a highly respected, board-certified sports medicine-trained orthopedic surgeon at Pacific Regenerative and Interventional Medicine in San Jose, CA. He is a past chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee of the Santa Clara County Medical Society, past team physician of the San Jose Earthquakes Professional Soccer Team, orthopedic surgeon of the FC Gold Pride Women’s Professional Soccer Team and has a professional affiliation with Silicon Valley Sports Medicine Associates. In his spare time, Dr. Blatz enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife, sons and four grandchildren.
